Small excavators, with advantages like flexibility and ease of operation, have become “new helpers” in agricultural production, with a continuous surge in market demand. Data shows that in the first half of 2025, the sales volume of small excavators in China’s agricultural sector increased by 18.7% year-on-year, among which 3-5 ton models accounted for over 60%, widely used in scenarios such as deep soil tillage, orchard ditching, greenhouse renovation, and farmland water conservancy construction.

Compared with traditional manual operations, small excavators can replace 10-15 workers, and work efficiency is improved by more than 3 times. At the same time, they can effectively protect soil structure and crop roots, and adapt to operations in narrow spaces such as orchard rows and greenhouses. To meet the needs of agricultural scenarios, enterprises have optimized product designs and launched special models with adjustable chassis, low noise, and no oil stains. Some models are also compatible with auxiliary tools such as rippers and augers, realizing “one machine with multiple uses” and significantly reducing agricultural production costs. Industry insiders say that the agricultural field will become a core growth track for small excavators in the future, with huge market potential.
